Exterior Window Film in South San Francisco, California

Everyday Solar Art gets requests from business owners, facility managers, property managers, and anyone else who works in an office setting to help reduce heat from coming into the building. Heat is an issue that so many people face every day, and try different window treatments to help mitigate the problem. Shades and blinds are two common window treatments that people turn to to help reduce heat in both their commercial and residential spaces, but going that route will result in less natural light in return for less heat. Window film, on the other hand, helps reduce heat without compromising views outside or natural light. Solar Art recently installed exterior window film to a building in South San Francisco, California, to reduce as much heat as possible. If you are in the same shoes as this business owner and are experiencing extreme heat in your office space, contact Solar Art today for a free window film consultation!

Solar Art's Goals

Solar Art’s goals for this project were to help the customer find a heat-reducing solution that makes offices as cool and comfortable as possible. To do this, our sales representative out of our San Francisco office met with the business owner to make it happen. Solar Art installed exterior window film to part of this building a few years back to help reduce heat. The business owner was really pleased with the results of the first installation and wanted to get the rest of the building done. From there, our sales representative asked the customer more questions about the project to get an idea of what window film would be the best fit for the commercial glass. The business owner explained that their primary goal was to reduce as much heat as possible and that the glass in question is high up and is difficult to get to.

Solar Art's Suggestions

After meeting with the customer at the job site and learning about the specific details of the project and what the customer was looking for, our sales representative was ready to make some suggestions! Since the biggest priority for this project was heat rejection and access to the windows is difficult, our representative felt that an exterior window film would be the best fit. We could use a boom lift on the outside of the building to get to the hard-to-reach windows and exterior window film rejects the maximum amount of heat.

What the Customer Chose

After meeting with our sales representative and hearing the different window films that would be a good fit for this project, he decided to take our suggestion and move forward with an exterior window film, specifically exterior Prestige 20. Exterior window film is great for areas that are difficult to get to from the interior, and they are designed to withstand weathering over the years. This specific exterior window film the customer chose ejects 97% of the sun’s infrared lights and 99.9% of harmful ultraviolet rays. The building will be significantly cooler and more comfortable.

Results of the Window Film Installation

This installation ended up being 540 square feet of exterior window film installed and took one of our installers two days to complete. Overall, Solar Art thought this project was a success! We were able to help the customer find a heat-reducing window film and apply it to hard-to-reach windows without compromising natural light or views outside. In addition to exterior window film and solar film, Solar Art also services decorative window filmcustom graphicsanti-graffiti filmwindow security film, and exterior building wraps.
