A lot of Solar Art’s customers are homeowners that are experiencing significant heat in their home. This case study is about one of those homeowners. Located in Altadena, California, the weather is warm and sunny throughout a lot of the year. Unfortunately, the warm weather brings heat, which can make a home hot and uncomfortable to be in. A lot of our customers turn to the air conditioner or shades to try and mitigate the problem, which either raises your electricity bill or darkens your space. Neither of which are great options. What a lot of homeowners don’t realize, is that there are window film options available that reduce heat and reduce glare while lowering your electricity bill and allowing natural light in. Win-win situation. If you are a homeowner experiencing extreme heat in your home, keep reading to learn more about how window film helped this customer with that exact problem!
Solar Art’s goals for this installation were to help the homeowner find a window film solution that would significantly reduce heat in the home. To accomplish this goal, our sales representative from our San Francisco office met with the homeowner at the home to take a look at the problematic glass and show them samples that would best fit their needs.
While meeting with the customer, our sales representative learned that the living room, dining room, kitchen, bathroom, two bedrooms, and office had problematic glass that let in a ton of heat. The homeowner explained to our representative that they were looking for a heat-reducing window film that wasn’t going to change the aesthetics of the home. After meeting with the homeowner and hearing what their goals were, our sales representative was ready to make some recommendations. Our representative recommended a ceramic window tint for this project. He suggested a ceramic window tint first and foremost because it will significantly reduce heat and reduce glare in the home. Ceramic window tint contains no metals or dye, which means it isn’t going to change the aesthetics of the home, which is the second reason why our representative suggested it for this homeowner.
After the homeowner met with our team and saw the different window film options available, the homeowner decided to take our sales representative’s suggestion and move forward with ceramic window tint. The ceramic window tint the homeowner chose reduces 55% of heat, 53% of glare, and 99% of ultraviolet rays. This is going to make the home more comfortable without changing its look or feel.
