We have written a lot of case studies and a lot of blogs about window film, most of which are interior installations. But, did you know that we also do exterior window film installations? If not, you are going to want to check out this case study! We installed an awesome exterior window film to a tile shop in Kent, Washington, to increase privacy and add safety to the store. The business owner was having security issues with the storefront glass and was looking for a solution. Keep on reading to learn more about the details of this project and the type of exterior window film that was chosen for the shop!
Solar Art’s primary goal for all of our installations is to help our customers find a solution to whatever problem they are having with window film. To help find the best window film solution, we have one of our expert sales representatives meet with the customer at the job site to gather more information. From there, we take exact measurements and show window film samples based on the details we learned from the customer.
While meeting with the customer, our sales representative learned that security was a big issue with the store. The storefront is made entirely of glass, and they have had issues with break-ins in the past. The business owner was looking for a window film solution that would increase safety and security within the store. After hearing the issues the customer was having, our sales representative thought a window security film would be a necessity for the shop. From there, our sales representative showed the customer different security film options to see if he thought any of them would be the perfect fit for the shop.
Once the customer met with our sales representative and learned about the different window films that are available, he agreed it was exactly what he was looking for. The business owner decided to move forward with an exterior 3M product called Matte 2 Mil Frost. This is a window security film and a frosted window film combined into one. It is a security film, which means it is thicker than a standard window film. Since it is thicker, it prolongs forced entry time, making it harder for intruders to get in. Not only does this exterior window film prolong forced entry time, but it also holds shattered glass together and protects against certain types of natural disasters. Since the customer was looking to significantly increase safety, our sales representative felt this was a great option because it’s also a frosted window film. Frosted window film is going to prevent anyone from seeing into or out of the glass. The combination of the window security film with the frosted window film is going to provide the customer with maximum privacy and security for the storefront glass.
