Solar Art installed frosted window film to a home in Irvine, California! The customer has a large window on their first floor where privacy is a big issue. People who are walking by can easily see straight into their home. They have a clear view of their entire downstairs area, which also poses a safety hazard as well as a privacy issue. The customer was looking for a way to increase privacy for this one window to prevent people from seeing into their home. They reached out to Solar Art to learn about what their window film options are for increased privacy. Our sales representative met with the customer at their home to see the window they were referring to and help them decide which window film is best for their project.

Our sales representative educated the customer on the different privacy window film options there are. When it comes to maximum increased privacy, decorative window film and reflective window film are your best options. Reflective window film will look like one way window film or mirrored film. It will completely prevent anyone from seeing in and it is an extreme heat blocking window film. Reflective window film can block up to 77% of heat, 82% of glare and 99% of harmful UVA and UVB rays from entering the space. Solar Art often sees reflective window film installed to commercial spaces, but since this was a home, the customer was hesitant on going with reflective window film. They didn’t want their home to look like a one way mirror. The second option for maximum increased privacy is decorative window film. Installing a frosted window film for example, will prevent outsiders from seeing in. It also gives a modern and clear look. With frosted window film, people won’t be able to see in, but you also won’t be able to see out. Frosted window film is not a heat blocking window film like reflective window film, but will still reduce some heat and glare as well as blocking 99% of UVA and UVB rays. Ultimately, since this was their home, the customer decided to go with frosted window film to keep with the style and look. They were extremely happy with the outcome of the installation because outsiders were no longer able to see in and they felt safer in their own home. If the customer decides later on the don’t want the frosted window film anymore, they can easily remove and replace it with no damage to the glass. In addition to frosted window film, Solar Art also services solar film, anti graffiti film, security window film, custom graphics and exterior building wraps. We do residential and commercial installations throughout the entire west coast. If you are interested in getting window film installed, contact Solar Art today for a free quote!
