Solar Art installed 3M Night Vision Window Film to a building in Sammamish, Washington! The customer was having a really bad problem with heat and glare coming through the storefront windows. The windows are floor to ceiling and let in a ton of natural light, which is what tends to bring the heat and glare. There are employees that work and have their desks in the storefront area and get really uncomfortable, especially in the afternoon. The glare reflecting off the glass makes it really hard to see computer screens and productivity actually decreases. The business owner didn’t want shades or blinds because they didn’t want the store to appear dark and uninviting. The business owner still wanted to have some sort of natural light, which is why they thought window film would be a good fit. They called Solar Art to get a free window film quote for their storefront glass and to learn more about what different options they have.
When it comes to solar film and reducing heat and glare, you have a few different directions you can go with. You can choose a ceramic window tint that contains no metals or dyes and won’t change the look of your space at all aesthetically. You can choose a more neutral window film that does have a slight color to it, or you can choose a reflective window film which will reduce the most amount of heat and glare, but will also change the look of your building from the exterior. The customer preferred to have a little color but didn’t want to change the look from the exterior, so they decided to go with a neutral window film. From there our sales representative showed them samples of different samples of window films. The customer really liked the 3M Night Vision series, specifically Night Vision 35. 3M Night Vision window film has a warm hue to it that is both professional and inviting. 3M Night Vision window film is both a heat blocking window film and a glare blocking window film. 3M Night Vision 35 actually reduces 51% of heat, 59% of glare and 99.9% of ultraviolet rays. This is going to make a noticeable difference for the employees that sit in the storefront area. In the photo above, the two outside panes have the 3M Night Vision window film installed and our installer is prepping the middle window. You can see that even though the window film does have a hue to it, the room isn’t significantly darker and the aesthetics of the office really aren’t changing. The customer was really happy with the results of the installation because their office was significantly more comfortable and they didn’t have to change the look of the building or make it dark and uninviting. In addition to 3M Night Vision window film, Solar Art also services decorative window film, custom graphics, anti graffiti film, security window film and exterior building wraps.
