Solar Art installed 3M Dusted Crystal to an office in Irvine, California. The company is a law firm in Irvine, California, and has an office made up of glass private offices and a glass conference room. As you can imagine, the topics discussed in a law firm can be highly sensitive and confidential. With that being said, the business owner was having a problem with the lack of privacy in the offices and conference room. He was looking for a way to increase privacy without having to remove the glass or cover it up entirely. The customer liked the way the glass made the office look and was trying to change the aesthetics as little as possible. He researched window treatment options near him when he came across Solar Art’s website. From there, he found our decorative window film and custom graphics pages and thought one of them might be a good fit for the office space. He decided to reach out for a free window film consultation to learn more about what his options are!
Solar Art’s goals for this project were to explain the different window films that are available on the market and help the customer find the best fit for their project. To do this, we needed to get a better understanding of what the customer was looking for and what the project was going to entail. One of our sales representatives from our Orange County office met with the business owner at the law firm to learn more about the project and show samples of different options available on the market. While onsite, the customer explained that he was looking for more privacy in the private offices than the conference room and wanted a window film that would maintain the aesthetics of the space and not completely get rid of natural light in the space.
After meeting with the customer, our sales representative had a few suggestions she thought would be a good fit for the law firm. Since the customer was looking for increased privacy while maintaining the aesthetics of the office, she recommended 3M Dusted Crystal. She recommended this window film because it will prevent people from being able to see into the room and it will still maintain a clean and modern aesthetic. For the conference room, since the customer didn’t want to full cover up the glass and didn’t need as much privacy as the private offices, our sales representative suggested installing a band of the 3M Dusted Crystal at eye level. This will increase privacy from people walking by and will still let in a ton of natural light. For the private offices, our sales representative suggested installing the 3M Dusted Crystal 6’ up from the floor. This will significantly increase privacy but will still allow some natural light into the rooms.
After working with our sales representative and hearing her recommendations, the customer was ready to move forward with a product. He decided to take her suggestion entirely and go with the 3M Dusted Crystal for the conference room and private offices. The business owner felt that this product encapsulated exactly what he was envisioning for the office space. It has a clean and modern look that isn’t going to drastically change the look of the office space and it will significantly increase privacy. 3M Dusted Crystal is a type of decorative window film that looks similar to a frosted window film. It can be installed on glass surfaces for privacy purposes and can be removed if need be.
This installation ended up being 16 panes and 352 square feet of Dusted Crystal. It took one installer 9 hours to complete. Overall, Solar Art was very pleased with the outcome of this installation. We were able to successfully help the business owner find a window film for the conference room and private offices that increases privacy and maintains the aesthetic of the office space in a way that still allows in natural light.
